We LOVE this grill
Our old (1990 old) Weber was due to be replaced (still worked, just very very dirty, starting to rust) and we shopped for a while before making the obvious decision to replace it with a new Weber. This Genesis II Smart Grill is beautiful. It's big, it grills evenly, sears beautifully, every time. The "smart" features ensure good results every time and now we dont have to camp by the grill while we cook. Info is on the phone, or on the panel outside the grill. We are confident this grill will last another lifetime and bring many great meals. Only negative was that it took us a while to put together.
Hotter than ****!
With the sear zone it gives you an additional burner which will increase the heat to fast and furious. Great for cooking steaks, the thick kind. The thermometer probes are useful when the heat is that high, use them so that you don’t over cook your food. The lights around the knobs are a cool feature when you’re bbq late into the evening. All in all the best Weber bbq that I’ve ever owned.
The grill itself looks great
The grill itself looks great- the problem is that the protective film will not peel off. I haven't been able to use the grill yet waiting for solutions.

Love my new grill
I had a 20 year old genesis c I think it was called. This is wonderful to be able to control the temp again. I am getting used to the heat. The side burner works awesome also. My only issue is that I was used to the side tables that folded down when not in use. I miss the extra work surface. Also I will reread the manual again but 2 people have told me to turn the grates over for searing to the “pointy” side. Is that a thing?
